Walshie won his 3rd PDC Title of the year by Defeating an in form Jamie Caven to lift the PDC Players Championship in Barnsley. Walsh Led 3-1 and 5-3 before claiming the title 6-4.

Mark Walsh continued his stunning recent form and climb up the rankings with a 3rd PDC Tournament win of the year in the PDC Player Championships in Barnsley. Winning the title by beating Jamie Caven 6-4 in the final.

Brendan Dolan was the first scalp for Walshie and the Abbotts Langley ace went througg 6-2 in Round 1. Darren Johnson was next to go out to Walshie in Round 2 by 6 legs to 3. Michal Smith was hammered 6-0 in Round 3 as Walshie marched on. Fellow Hertfordshire player Alex Roy was beaten in Round 4 6-2 as Walshie reached the Quarter Finals.

Andy Jenkins was edged out 6-5 to send Walshie into the Semi Final where he beat former World Number 1 Colin Lloyd again 6-5 to set up a Final vs Jamie Caven.

After sharing the first 2 legs, Walshie raced into 3-1 and 5-3 leads before Caven reduced the lead to 1. Walshie claimed his 3rd Championship of 2009 by winning the next leg and the title by 6 legs to 4.
