Mark Walsh stormed back into the top ten to 8th in the World with another PDC Title, this time the UK open Qualifier in Barnsley, and his sixth PDC ranking title in 16 Months. Walshie has a habit of beating World Champions in Finals and today John Part was the latest Victim. Walshie defeated players of the calibre of Merv King and Colin Lloyd on the way and Walshie was particularly happy after the latest Title was claimed just 6 weeks after beating the Power Phil Taylor again in a final.

Speaking to Planet Darts he said "I'm delighted, To win one of these tournaments this year was an achievement and it means a lot to have won another. I did it the hard way at times during the day but got there in the end."  Walshie dedicated the Title to his new baby Grandson who was born on Friday, Beau.

Walshie beat Patrick Pace 6-4 in Round One, followed that up by beating Colin Lloyd 6-3 in Round Two and then Stuart Bousfield 6-2 in Round Three.  Merv King was beaten as Walshie won the Fouth Round match 6-5 and then he beat Co Stompe 6-5 in Round Five. Wayne Jones was the Victim in the Semi Finals by 6-5 before Walshie won yet another title with a 6-3 win over former Champion of the World John Part.

Walshie now storms back into the elite Top Ten in the world.
